Gacha? GACHA!

Why didn't someone tell me it was SOOO freaking easy to make Omega appliers? Seriously? I've been putting it off cause I hate dealing with scripts and stuff. But I broke down and opened the developer's kit and made one. OMG. I have changed my life. I made some funny leggings back in my BFD days and people begged for appliers, but I didn't know how to make them and I didn't have a mesh body to test them on. Well.. I have my Maitreya body now and I can make them. So I made appliers and packed them up with the old system layers and put the gacha machine back out.

Sometimes when I'm having a hard day, I need a little bit of something to cheer me up. Sometimes that's chocolate or looking at pictures of kitty cats on the interwebs. Sometimes it's making a pig that throws bacon.

YES! If you know anything about me, I have had a couple stores now in SL. My first store was She's So Unusual Shoes. Then I tried my hand at clothing. It was going well til I was sidetracked by cancer. Sooo.. a lot of Budget Friendly Designs' stuff has been sitting around in my inventory. I decided to box it up and put it in a vendor. It's all standard sized mesh without HUDs. Ugh.

I must be in a leather sorta mindset. I was working with leather again today and came up with stunning tooled leather underbust corset. The tooling on the leather is enhanced with materials and shine and it just really looks like you could touch it and feel the grain.

Leather and Lace

So I've been playing around with what's called Alpha Blending on mesh faces. It's a bit hard to do and if you do it wrong, the entire thing is funky looking. I think I got it right with these Lace Top Dresses.

Great leather texture with a shine map and bumpmap to really make that leather pop. The yoke is a floral and net lace. Love the dip dye ombre effect. 8 colors on the HUD, but you can get a special color FREE in the Midnight Mania board in world at The Odd Eyed Cat store.

OK so a little background info FIRST. My name is Rowan Carroll and I've been in SL for over 11 years. For the first 5 or so years, I created shoes for She's So Unusual Shoes. It was FUN and creative and helped me learn about SL and myself. I got a bit burnt out and closed the store in 2011. I did some ME stuff, shopping, playing around and finally got the creative bug again. Mesh was out and most mesh clothing was EXPENSIVE. So I got some full perm meshes and made Budget Friendly Designs to help newbies and us frugal folks look good. Unfortunately my real life took a turn and I found out I had cancer at the end of 2015. So I had to close the store and everything took a back seat to getting me healthy again.

Guess what? I'm all better. Luckily I was Stage 1 and didn't need chemo or radiation. I was back on SL, playing around, helping newbies at NCI, shopping like mad. And the creative bug reached out and bit me again. I made a couple things just for fun. I textured some full perm meshes for some friends and got great compliments. What's a girl to do?

She starts a business! @rOrO Designs is just starting out right now. I've got about 17 items in the store, which is based on the back wall of my friend's store - The Odd Eyed Cat. Good thing Neural and I have been friends for about 11 years! She's letting me borrow some prims until I have enough stuff for my own store.

So. 11 years. What long strange trip it's been. Come down and see what kinda crazy stuff I'm making. Just cause they aren't shoes, doesn't mean they aren't unusual...
